Understanding Toxic Relationship Dynamics

OUTCOME

  • Understand what a toxic relationship is and is not.

  • Self-assess your own relationship.

  • Create your initial roadmap to recovery.

DESCRIPTION

Finding relevant information on recovering from a toxic relationship is hard. There’s so much information and it’s all out there in random orders and it’s hard to find clarity and a clear path to understanding toxic dynamics. In this module, you will learn everything you need to know about toxic behaviors and start your road to recovery.

MODULE TWO

Navigating Manipulation

OUTCOME

  • Understand how the drama triangle shows up so you can identify triggering behaviors.

  • Explore a range of effective strategies to avoid drama and further abusive behavior.

  • Generate a plan to respond to toxic provocation effectively.

DESCRIPTION

So often we get stuck in endless toxic loops when trying to communicate with a toxic person. They bait and wait for a reaction, they taunt and name-call, basically, it’s like trying to communicate with a child. By the end of this module, you will learn how to spot and avoid the bait and respond to provocations with clarity and confidence.

MODULE THREE

Self-Care for Self-Regulation

OUTCOME

  • Understand how to regulate your nervous system to become calmer and less anxious.

  • Discover ways to find peace in chaos so you can make clearer decisions that are aligned to your best interests.

  • Explore techniques to relax, reflect and respond with clarity, even in the most difficult situations.

DESCRIPTION

When we are exposed to people's toxic personalities, our minds and our nervous systems take a toll. The confusion of trying to make sense of a mind that doesn’t make sense can dysregulate us. And we can do something about it. In this module, you will discover how we can still our minds, relax our nervous systems, and find peace in a storm.

MODULE FOUR

Facing Fear Head On

OUTCOME

  • Demystify what fear is and why it shows up.

  • Self-assess how fear shows up in your world so you know where to focus.

  • Discover ways to alleviate fear and reframe situations so you can take action.

DESCRIPTION

Fear can show up in many ways and keep us from achieving our ideal outcomes. This fear keeps us in the same place until we do something different. In this module we will look at what fear is and how to hold, calm and overcome it.

MODULE FIVE

Feeling Feelings

OUTCOME

  • Get clear on what feelings are and how they are created.

  • Understand how to allow feelings to flow through instead of overwhelming.

  • Unburden repressed emotions to experience a healthier connection to your body.

DESCRIPTION

By holding space for ourselves and our experiences, emotions no longer rule us. They are part of us, not our whole selves. By allowing feelings to flow through us, they are no longer something we fear, but something we welcome and allow.

MODULE SIX

Finding Freedom

OUTCOME

  • Understand how past experiences can affect your present moment.

  • Explore the meanings attached to past experiences.

  • Learn how to dismantle your emotional connection to experiences so that you find more calm and peace in the present.

DESCRIPTION

Most of us do not fully understand how the past may keep us trapped and shape our present and future. In this module we will explore this topic so that any unhelpful past experiences will stay in the past and allow you to move forward with confidence.

MODULE SEVEN

Future Facing

OUTCOME

  • Focus your energy on what you can shape in the present to create the foundation for your future.

  • Release all old patterns so that they are not repeated.

  • Find strength and resilience from overcoming the past so no obstacles in your future can’t be overcome.

DESCRIPTION

We take on the future as a warrior, knowing that we can overcome any obstacle. We discover what was lost was never lost, it was buried, and like a seed growing roots, we discover ourselves again, one that no one can take away, ever again and we live a life that’s of our own creation and our own design.

Self Discovery

This is the starting point, you embark on a journey of self-discovery. By identifying your ideas, values, interests, passions, and strengths, you’ll be able to start to map out a meaningful and fulfilling future beyond your current role and identity.

Duration: 3 hours

Purpose Discovery

The 'Purpose Discovery' module involves deep, perhaps lengthy, reflection exercises and visualisation techniques to help you discover and validate your new purpose beyond your work identity. You will leave this module feeling empowered and confident about your next phase of life.

Duration: 3 hours

Process Development

In this ‘foundation’ module, you’ll start to build a clear roadmap for your journey into the future. Through a clear understanding of goal-setting and action planning, you’ll gain the tools and techniques you need to navigate this significant transition. You may well find this quite different from any change you’ve managed before.

Duration: 3 hours

Support Development

This module will guide you in how to prepare yourself for the way forward. You’ll learn to ‘let go’ of the ‘past’ and the need for forgiveness and gratitude to facilitate this. We’ll discover who and what to avoid and how to identify ‘partners in believing’ who’ll support you in what may be a complex period of setting yourself free.

Duration: 3 hours

Managing Transition

Building on the previous module, you'll learn stress management techniques, how to deal with anxiety, and resilience-building strategies. You’ll learn to have faith and belief in yourself and transmit this to others. We’ll revisit the work you did in Modules 2 and 3 and fill out any additional detail or clarity. This module prepares you emotionally to manage the way forward seamlessly.

Duration: 3 hours

Harvesting Transition

In this module you’ll ‘launch’ your new ‘business’ of being YOU in ‘life-after-work’. You'll learn confidence-building exercises and ongoing action planning techniques to face any future fears and uncertainties. By paying attention to your intention without tension and with the support of your ‘team’ you can be confident your expectations will be met. This module ensures you step into your next phase ‘Powered Up’ with a sense of renewed significance and life force. Perhaps it’s time for a ‘starting party’!

Duration: 3 hours

ABOUT ME

I found myself constantly living in fear. I was craving affection, validation, love and understanding. I found myself constantly trying to navigate unpredictable mood swings and changing demands and constantly walking on eggshells. I tried harder and harder, giving and giving, until it felt like I had nothing left to give.

No matter what I tried to do, nothing was good enough. I lived through the exhausting cycle of feeling at fault, endlessly apologizing for wrongs not mine to own. I noticed toxic people everywhere in my life, at home, with a cycle of intimate partners, work, even family members. It was like I was a magnet, an emotional dumping ground for dysfunctional people.

My journey to recovery began the day I realized that waiting for others to change was an exercise in futility. I shifted my focus inward—embracing self-empathy, ceasing my attempts to alter an unchangeable reality. I prioritized my needs, transforming my approach to life. This personal evolution wasn't just about healing; it was about reclaiming my power and autonomy. Now, healed and whole, I am equipped to guide others through this transformative process.

Having reclaimed my life, I am driven to empower others to do the same. From the struggles of one person, an army of survivors has emerged—each person a testament to the possibility of recovery and renewal.
